The Sound of Paros is a collaborative project of nine musicians from France, Greece, Italy and Switzerland. Inspired by the Greek island of Paros, the project took off as a conversation which turned into a palpable music adventure. The sea waves, wind and endless horizons seen from the perspective of the island are at the core of this collaboration, deeply rooted in a fusion of soul and jazz.
“Soul, Wake Up” is the first peek into a larger body of music, an album called “SPACETIME” which will premiere this November. On its own, as the first single, it is a beautiful introduction into the fabric of the “SPACETIME” universe. With Nefeli Fasouli on vocals, this voyage through jazzy moods takes turns into tempo changes and an amazing solo, reminiscing of a fast trip on a winding road with breathtaking Mediterranean views in the background. A trip that begins and ends with a moment of calm reflection. One that soothes the mind and relaxes the body.
With its constant dance between poetic lyrics and a traditional jazz arrangement, The Sound of Paros sends a message of unity in diversity, embracing the beauty of a creative collaboration. “Interconnection” being the keyword here, “Soul, Wake Up” delivers this message with elegance and in an incredibly emotional fashion. Trust me, you will know what I mean as soon as you get to the solo. And the goosebumps will not let you forget.
