As a hardcore trip hop fan, I would not forgive myself if I missed the opportunity to write about this 9-minute-long trippy trip down into your innermost self. Recorded by a Mexico-based duo, Man In Motion, it is packed with mysterious textures, light vocalising, and a full on immersion into their signature sound.
The soundscape created in “Innermost Pulse” goes through a number of stages, signalled by varying textures, with the hypnotic bass line as an anchor which will pull you out back to reality after the 9 minutes of this sonic experience. The track’s length is not something you should worry about, though. Once you’re in, you will actually be surprised how quickly it passes, this time-defying wordless story which calls for a deep plunge into your own emotions.
“Innermost Pulse” is part of a double-single called “Pet Soldiers”. The second track, “The Tamer” is a whole lot of a different experience, so if you are curious, give it a go, too. You will be impressed by how versatile Man In Motion’s music can get. And enjoy the trip! That’s the most important thing after all.
