H+ “Surrounded”

If you would like to start your weekend with some liquid DnB and jungle, here’s an opportunity you cannot miss. Hailing from Bermuda, here’s H+ and the opening track of his latest EP, “Surrounded”.

Combined with slowly sung vocals, “Surrounded” creates the space for some introspective moods and thoughts of a philosophical nature. Intended as a call for more diversity and acceptance, its message is even more powerful on a backdrop of broken DnB rhythms blended with a calm but heavy bass line. “Only when we accept our differences and stop trying to control each other, will we truly be free,” says H+, encapsulating the core message of “Surrounded”.

Certain messages cannot be repeated often enough. Whether it’s a different religion, or different culture, or different gender identity, embracing the diversity and understanding of one another remains key in so many situations these days, that talking about it, or singing about it, should be an obvious thing to do. Yet, it isn’t. So, even if I sound like a broken record at this stage, I seriously don’t care.
