Ari’s new release is a curious contrast between traditional middle-eastern melodies, and the elements of house music. The atmosphere is hypnotic and mesmerising, while the combination of different influences makes the song both familiar and soothing at the same time. It’s like a string of colourful beads laid carefully on a forest’s path, slowly leading you to the place you call home, whatever the definition of it might be.
There is a certain dose of poetry in “The Long Way Home”, making this mysterious experience worth a listen. Bringing a sensation of calm, hope and patience straight to your headphones, it feels like a much needed break, a sonic balm, an atmospheric synth-induced breather from the pains and struggles of the day that’s thankfully behind you.
It is also interesting to observe the evolution of Ari’s sound, from his album “Shadows of Tomorrow”, released earlier this year, to this intense blend of sounds which make up “The Long Way Home”. I want more, is all I can say in this case.
