As the stormy weather rages over the northern hemisphere, here’s something warm and cozy. Su Isaac is an Indian vocalist and songwriter based in Los Angeles. And when I tell you that her inspirations include Erykah Badu and H.E.R., you will immediately recognise the quality.
“Trouble” comes from Su’s debut EP released late last year and it is a bold jazz/soul statement. With a mix of relaxing, romantic, and soulful vibes, it is indeed quite beautiful. With its acoustic sound reminding me of early India.Arie, “Trouble” is one of those tunes that you would play in a warm setting, trying to unwind and chill or, put simply, forget about the entire world. Let’s forget together then, shall we?
And while we all are in this collective amnesia moment, let’s spread the word, spread the warmth, and spread all the love coming from Su’s musical sounds. We all need it more than we realise sometimes.
