Today’s Sunday Chill treat comes from Luxembourg. Since I occasionally get asked by my international friends if the language even exists (yes, it does!), this song goes in line with the artist’s intent to “change people’s minds about contemporary music in Luxembourgish”.
Meet JORDIOR, an RnB singer-songwriter who performs in Luxembourgish, writing about his experiences with love, relationships and personal situations, the themes frequently explored by the RnB music. “DO FIR MECH” (meaning “There For Me” in English), is his take on the RnB genre, emotionally raw, vocally dramatic, yet mellow at the same time. In JORDIOR’s own words: “I only ever make music when I feel the need to get something off my chest, and I usually think of my songs as diary entries of my life”.
Whether you choose to treat “DO FIR MECH” as an insight into someone’s private diary, or a slice of the artist’s upcoming RnB project is, of course, entirely up to you. Either way, let yourselves get enchanted by the pure emotion travelling through the words sung in a language you don’t necessarily understand. From JORDIOR’s heart, through sound waves, straight to your ears.

I wish I treated this song as an insight into someone’s private diary, as you said, but I don’t know Luxembourgish. 🙈 But it does sound good. I like the artwork too, looks like a pic taken at an art gallery.
Cheers.
