Bob Smith, the man behind The Static Dive, played every instrument on the original version of “Cool Hand Bossa”, and he is also the remixer of the VIP Room Trip-Hop Mix experience. Diving deep into the styles of Morcheeba and Thievery Corporation, he re-invented his sound into a jazzy, and even more so, lounge-y vibe which is both chic and pleasantly relaxing. Think the VIP Room mentioned in the title. A classy atmosphere and an abundance of strangely colourful cocktails.
As far as trip hop goes, this is the light version of the genre. Perfect for chilling or creating a background mood for an evening conversation. For me personally, it is a source of much needed relaxation which takes my imagination and internal vision to places of tranquility.
