“Unharmed” is the closing track from iFeature’s album, “Forbidden”. Mixing all sorts of electronic sounds and genres, this eclectic delivery of moods, oscillating between dubstep and drum and bass, grabs you immediately with a very human, soulful approach. This is not emotionless EDM banging or merging random samples found in your DAW. It’s vocally raw, lyrically uncompromising and, yes – that word again – goosebumps inducing!
I instantly fell in love with this dramatic electronica of sorts, and this track especially, being the grand finale of the entire album, made me drop my jaw for a couple of seconds. Yes, this is the right balance between industrially loaded arrangements and emotionally loaded vocals. And this is the kind of electronica that actually should be the future. After all, we are human beings looking to express what’s sitting inside of us, what is boiling our emotions, and how to express it all in a way that others can understand.
So, here it is, “Unharmed” – a full on rollercoaster, musically captivating and humanly beautiful at the same time.
