Aubryanna’s debut single is one of those voices which should be duplicated, triplicated, multiplied a thousand times, and then spread around as much as possible. Being a young adult, growing up in the age of social-media-induced body image issues, a message of empowerment coming from a peer is extremely important.
“CoverGirl” is a cry for individuality and self-acceptance in a world often demanding conformity. I honestly cannot imagine myself going through my early years again, with all the hateful comments pouring out from every corner of the internet. As a result, “CoverGirl”, musically dressed as a pop, RnB, and trap inspired tune, has a chance of getting through to the ears and minds of those who desperately need it.
There’s nothing like a song with a message on a Sunday morning, even if a discussion that follows will make us feel uncomfortable. It really should. So, Aubryanna, welcome to the world of meaningful songwriters. We hope to hear more from you soon.
