An interesting and engaging RnB tune is hard to come by these days, especially one that is not drowned in 808 subs. Sometimes it feels like the days of neo soul are gone for good, and that they will never come back. Ok, I probably over-dramatise, but I hope you know what I mean.
So, here’s Joey P., a recent university graduate with a degree in… biomedical science. He released two short EPs in 2023, with “100 Times” coming from one of them, namely “after/party”, a fitting title for the vibe you are about to hear. Slow, mellow, relaxing. Reminiscing of some of the early The Weeknd tunes.
“100 Times” is pleasantly dark, with simultaneous soothing qualities, and a nightly urban vibe which emotionally places you in a warm and introspective space. Perfect for a candle-filled evening with a loved one that does not necessarily have anything to do with the 14th day of February. After all, we should celebrate love all day, every day, shouldn’t we?
