If you like melancholic, euphoric house melodies, you got here on a good day. Angara, a French duo made up of Quentin and Loris, have just released the title track from their upcoming album. “Before We Forget”, the song, is an emotional immersion into atmospheric, electronic vibes, flavoured with a hint of nostalgia. Introspective from start to finish, this tune is like an open sea of raw sentiments. A plunge into the feelings of love and hope, shaken by the waves of doubt and uncertainty. It is hard to believe I am describing a house track, isn’t it?

Yet it is this very approach to songwriting which makes “Before We Forget” stand out. A steady, pulsating beat and layers after layers of synthesised textures which, in combination with the emotional uncertainty of the vocals, deliver a clubbing experience which is like no other. There is a lot of beauty in this blend of the human and the electronic. And this is exactly what will make you come back to “Before We Forget” more than once.

Lyrically touching on a subject of longing for love of the one you have yet to meet, the song is an intriguing introduction to the full album which will premiere on the 26th February 2027. “We spent three years working on this album”, say Quentin and Loris. “The title came last, once we realised that every track was striving for the same thing: remaining true to oneself while everything around us changes.”

With two other tracks already released, “Before We Forget”, the album, is shaping up to be a unique collection of vibes. Three years of songwriting arranged into an emotional set which feels like a perfect hiding place. Away from everything. Like a hideaway where it is ok to dream, or to reminisce. Or just ok to close your eyes and safely drift away.
