It is pure pleasure to listen to new releases coming from Claxy these days. There is so much beauty in their approach to melodic house that it makes you listen with awe. Especially when it comes to tracks such as “Before the Sun”. Atmospheric, calm despite the beat, almost like the waves of a quiet sea at the end of a long night.
With “Before the Sun”, performed in both English and Portuguese, Claxy achieve a sense of equilibrium between what’s energetic, and what’s dreamy. And this dream-like state, oneiric in its effect, inspires the listener to experience a similar state of mind. A mind that drifts away from troubles and into a rhythm-induced bliss. Pulsating pads, emotional synths, the non-intrusive house beat. All work together toward an introduction to a journey into one’s self. One that is not forced, but immediately and willingly welcomed.
Following a consistent string of strong singles released in 2025 and 2026, Claxy claim their place on my private list of recent sonic fascinations. The way they play with the feelings of tension and release feels so effortless and magical at the same time that I literally give in to everything they publish these days. From “Permeia” to the amazing “Underwater”, their style crystallises around a beautiful core, filled with the need to escape from the real world. All of us need it sometimes. And to find the soundtrack to accompany these escapes feels incredibly rewarding.
