Get ready for some serious Sade vibes! With the elegant soulful vibes and the warmth of Monica Casagrande’s voice, her latest single has been inspired the Carl Jung’s concept of the shadow, the absence of light. “Shadows” is an invitation to enter a path of self-discovery where the light is used as a tool revealing unacknowledged parts of ourselves. Sade-style, with soft sounds and thought-provoking lyrics.
This beautiful tune is a dance on its own. Between the relaxation and the philosophical inspiration, it reveals an incredible talent to combine contrasting concepts which make you come back to the song, to the voice and to the soothing vibes almost effortlessly. The sweetest of the traps – music with purpose and no accidental coincidences.
“Shadows” will eventually become part of Monica’s upcoming EP, “Maré Bruta”. Built around the theme of duality – light and shadow, desire and silence, surrender and resistance – it is, unsurprisingly, a release that I am waiting for quite impatiently. Being announced as a fusion of jazz and rock, it promises to deliver a serious emotional ride. Between sweet and raw, mysterious and luminous, it is building up the tension and the expectations worthy of the comparison I have opened up with. So — no pressure!

Oh yeah, very Sade-like, perfect song to chill by the pool and enjoy the sun.
I was wondering, have you heard the recent Sugababes song “Weeds”? Sounds like something you may enjoy.
Cheers 🍹
Sure, I’ve heard both “Jungle” and “Weeds” – cool tracks. Very happy that Sugababes are making a proper comeback! 🙂
