You are about to embark on a sonic journey that will relax your mind through a fusion of organic sounds with melodic elements of electronic music. Known for blending African and Middle Eastern vibes with house-influenced beats, the Lebanese-Belgian producer, phelles, released his latest track, “Azure”, on a compilation called “Deep & Natural, Vol. 10” by Amithaba Records. And it is literally this combination of “deep” and “natural” which transpires through the slightly melancholic, slightly energetic sounds.
What I see as key in the composition of “Azure” is the flow of the energy from phelles’ production, through the membranes of the headphones, straight into your souls. “Azure” is a soundscape which develops over 7 minutes of music. And despite its upbeat rhythm, rather than to the dance floor, it invites you to look deeper into your own emotions. Cool stuff, huh?
If you do decide to give it a listen, here’s a quick disclaimer. I have just listened to “Azure” seven times in a row, in a complete trance. So, make sure to clear your evening schedule before the first spin 🙂
