In one of the previous lives of this blog, I used to run a “Tuesday Evening” series with warm, soulful music that would set one up for the rest of the busy week by offering a bit of a candle-lit breather. It seems that reviving this idea from time to time would actually make sense, especially if you come across a track such as Irene Adler’s “Storms in the Night”, with is cosy mood and the delicate, breezy sound.
The music project of Irene Adler goes in line with her manifesto: “This world is too beautiful to live just one life in it”. It encompasses more soft vibes from dreamy pop to jazz and blues. It’s that kind of music that you listen to when you are alone with your thoughts, and when you allow yourself to be a bit more vulnerable than you usually let others see you as. It’s a private feeling, almost intimate, one that most of us keep to ourselves and only ourselves.
“Storms in the Night”, when played in the right setting, will give you exactly that. A chance to be at peace with your own thoughts, to close your eyes, and experience the warmth embracing you through the sounds. So, there you go – an undeniably “Tuesday evening” moment. Don’t hesitate and let it in.
