Premiering today is “Construction Time” by The $cience, a project that I am proud of co-founding with the Canadian singer-songwriter, Silver Bella. Since November 2022, we have released nine singles, some of which had been included on our first EP, “Quantum Pop”, available on Bandcamp here. The initial idea of the “quantum pop” expression came from the description of our alternative pop style: “One part music. One part quantum physics”, referring to both the type of lyrics written by Silver Bella and my, oftentimes, nerdy beat-making.
“Construction Time’s” rhythmic, industrial sounding music track, in Silver Bella’s words, “conjured up images of pick axes, digging and big construction machines.” It inspired lyrics about perseverance and not giving up despite the work in front of you being very hard and challenging. It’s an inspirational, encouraging track set to a backdrop of industrial sounds.
With the imagery of hard work ahead of you, and having to use all the possible tools required to achieve the goal that you are striving for, “Construction Time” offers a powerful motivational message. It is, in a sense, a soundtrack to whatever it is that you need to do, giving you the rhythm, energy and the pace to focus on, while your work is in progress. Very positive and encouraging indeed.
