Based in Brussels, where he develops – as he calls it himself – his “artistic schizophrenia”, ZenToy is currently following up his 2015 debut with a set of new singles. Amongst them, “The One”, a vocoder-heavy, electronic tune, focused on the subject of a toxic relationship, and the difficulty of protecting oneself from such.
With the dark mood and desperate lyrics, “The One” creates a vibe filled with a sense of despair and loneliness. It’s like being in a club and dancing on the dance floor, but dancing alone, with a thousand scrutinising looks all over you. Uncomfortable, right? Sure, but also straight to the point that ZenToy is making.
“The One”, as a release, comes with a set of 6 additional remixes in various moods, from melancholic to aggressive, creating a soundscape for various occasions. So, you can easily forget everything I have just written, and simply give in to the clubbing mood of the original track. Either way, have fun and enjoy the music!
