The Next Movement are all about the groove. Making it irresistibly funky and fun is what they’re best at. This Swiss trio approaches their music with energy, which must sound great live, and a sense of humour – an unbeatable combination when it comes to performing. The result? A playful, danceable tune serving as a preview of their next EP, titled “More Cowbell”. The title on its own is already making me chuckle!
Back to the song, though. “Dang! (So Fine!)” is a fearless blend of vibes. From Prince to Bruno Mars, flowing through the music’s DNA, and their own signature sound. I love blending genres and here we have a ton of it, too. Soul, funk, R&B. All nicely packed into a little over three minutes of absolutely addictive musical joy.
Called “Europe’s must-watch funk band”, The Next Movement have already gathered quite an impressive following centred not only around their recordings but, most importantly, around their live shows. And they have already played over 1,500 of them! Talk about spreading a funk-infused infection, right? What impresses me about this project the most is how “concert-ready” the music is. Raw, pure and utterly fun. It’s all about having fun with music after all, isn’t it?
So, while the “More Cowbell” EP is only scheduled for the release in October this year, the tour – focused around Central Europe – is just about to begin.
