Ardisia “Polar Lights”

This sonic soundscape might as well be all you actually need at the beginning of this new January week. Ardisia is a Dutch project by a music producer and a guitarist who specialises in soft electronica. With his minimalistic approach to sound, Ardisia creates delicate, fleeting moments of relaxation. The type of relaxation which you would expect at the end of a long day. Or at the beginning of yet another week in this seemingly endless month.

With the initial strokes of the piano, “Polar Lights” introduces an intimate vibe. Almost like an invitation to unwind. Or to reminisce on the pains of the day that’s just behind us. Combining gentle melodies, and vocal textures with slightly uptempo beats, the tune literally takes us by the hand to a place of tranquility where inhales and exhales feel much lighter.

“I aimed to capture a wavy, airy atmosphere”, explains Ardisia. “Something immersive that keeps the listener engaged throughout.” Perhaps this natural, organic immersion is the right key to “Polar Lights”. Functioning almost as a curtain which separates the listener from the rest of the world, it provides a sense of protection. Isn’t it something that, sometimes, is really all we need?

  1. Yeah, the goal of achieving “a wavy, airy atmosphere” is acomplished here. 😊 It sounds basic, yet it’s very captivating.
    Greetings ☃️
