Hard to believe 2025 is already coming to an end. But there is still a good handful of songs which I would love to share with you all. My autumn playlist is a bit of an emotional ride. Well, no surprise there. But, this having been a bit of a slightly tumultuous season in my life, the music is a natural reflection of those various emotions.
Starting with a rework of the iconic Faithless tune in a symphonic arrangement. “Insomnia”, performed by Symphony of Unity was released just a couple of weeks ago. And it seemed like a fitting beginning. This beautiful instrumental piece features the classic melody from the original version and, honestly, sends chills down my spine. So, I recommend listening to it from start to finish, no skipping, as the emotional release is huge.
Next, my favourite track from Celeste’s latest album, “Woman Of Faces”. “Could Be Machine” is a real standout, bringing a musical face of Celeste that I have never heard before. It is raw, super energetic, dramatic and it literally hits you like a truck.
Celeste is followed by a bit of drum and bass by Mysie, SOXX and SIMMS. And then some retro-pop by Michelle David & The True-tones.
Next in line – Sandra Nkaké and her “Under My Skin”. Amazing soulful voice and a fascinating stage persona. I have had the pleasure of seeing Madame Nkaké perform live in Arles, France, back in November. And I still remember the shivers her rendition of Kate Bush’ “Running Up That Hill” gave me. Pure and clear as crystal.
“Under My Skin” is followed by house music by Rochelle Jordan from her new album, “Through The Wall”. “Ladida” has a cool upbeat vibe and a nod to the classic track by Crystal Waters.
And then – Maeve Moayedi. The amazing voice of this Luxembourg-rooted singer-songwriter will linger in your ears long after the song is over. I had the pleasure of seeing Maeve’s performance at an intimate concert showcasing her new project. And all I can say is – it will be mind-blowing!
This autumn playlist features some trio hop, too. Performed by breathe. from the album “For Your Darkest Days”. The song is called “River Running Wild” and features some serious Massive Attack vibes. It is followed by “No One Has to Know” by Bob Moses and my favourite track from Chris de Sarandy’s 2023 album “Know Your Worth”, “Tears That I Don’t Cry”.
There is also space for some beautiful soul and RnB. FENNE teamed up with Mitchell Yard, and their “You Make Me Wanna Be A Woman” has this soothing vibe that you will truly appreciate. Especially now, during the pre-Xmas frenzy. The next track, by Yazmin Lacey, “Longest Way Round”, continues in a similar mood. Just in case one song is not enough, and you need more time to chill.
And then, finally, we are closing this year’s last Mood Board with the latest tune by The $cience (by myself and the Canadian singer-songwriter, Silver Bella). Just a bit of a different energy, a combination of some electro pop and our signature “quantum pop” vibe. I hope you will enjoy its upbeat mood as we are closing the year on an energetic note.
Thank you to each and every one of you for following my music selections this year. If you have your favourites, please do share your impressions in the comments below.
Happy Holidays!
