A bit of jazz anyone? You might remember Charles Becker and his debut song, “Beginner”, featured on this website before Christmas last year. Now, with his third single, called “Final Song”, Charles is brining a cool piano groove to the mix.
Originally a bass player in indie bands, which were rooted in rock, soul, funk and jazz, it seems that eventually Charles made jazz his home. And it sounds like a perfect choice to accompany the piano with his own voice, making the combination unique to him, but also common to all who feel it in their soul.
“Final Song” (somehow, in my head) represents that funky groove of Charles’ bass player past. It is a shot of cool musical energy which invigorates and makes you sway to the rhythm. I am personally guilty as charged of playing it on repeat, singing along to the thought-provoking lyrics and, kinda, well, there’s no other word for it – “dancing”. A great proof that jazz can also be fun, even if it is not your usual first choice. “Final Song” can, and will, convince you otherwise.
