Mood Board: January 2025

One flu later, I emerge from the bodily unpleasantries healthy again and ready to share my January mood board with you all.

Back to trippy moods, I am opening the playlist with the sounds of the falling rain, as this is the type of “winter” we get to experience here in Luxembourg more and more often. A new song from ThunderFuzz, “Night, Calm & Silence” is an opener from our upcoming album, called “Change Demon” – a set of re-works coming from our debut release, “Anti Body”. It is immediately followed by another trippy tune, by an Irish trip hop band, Cordless. Rainy winter is rainy winter, not my fault. Things slightly pick up from there, though, tempo-wise, offering some 2-step beats in Hugo Trist’s “De-Identify”. 

Next in the queue is a collab by Anitek and TabInStereo from their album “Indigo Immaculate”. With a strong hip hop beat and no-bullsh*t lyrics, “Bleach” is by far my favourite tune these two guys have produced in a while. Give a listen to the whole thing, too, and you will definitely find more gems on their album. 

And then… Did someone say Celeste? Yes, Celeste and her “Everyday” – so different from her previous tunes. I am very curious where this sonic turn is going to take her music and I cannot wait to find out. Moving swiftly on to some sad, dark, introspective ambient – “Pelechian 2” by Thomas Azier, and then some soulful discoveries. 

First, “Echo” by Olivia Dean from 2020. Haven’t heard before, but I am becoming more and more enchanted. And then, “Forgive” by Jordan Rakei from his last year’s album, “The Loop”. I used to listen to Jordan’s music a good few years ago when it was, I feel, a bit darker and more trippy, but “Forgive”, you will hear it with your own ears, is a pure beauty.

Finally, to close things off – “Chalong”! A hypnotising house-ish tune from the transatlantic duo you already know from this website – Kaleida. Side note, you can read my interview with Christina Wood, one half of Kaleida just here below.
