Wednesday evening, dark and quiet. Would you rather change the mood with some energetic workout tune, or give in, and go slow, cozy, and mellow? You will know my answer to this innocent question in just a second.
Graziano Tassi’s new album, “Songs About Love and You and I”, will premiere on the 30th November. It will focus on “the sometimes torturous and unpredictable ways of love”. Sounds like an invitation to experiencing a multitude of contradictory emotions. From euphoria and tenderness, to sadness and loneliness. And what better genre to choose for such a mixture, if not jazz?
“I Need You Babe” seems to represent one of the more introspective aspects of love. There is some sad longing here, lingering slowly over the four minutes of beat-less music. Calm bass sounds lead the way through an emotionally withdrawn soundscape where the “I Need You Babe” call is left without an answer. Moving into darkness, a fairytale with no happy ending, with just the sounds of a desperate trumpet hopelessly trying to break through the silence.
Have a listen and if you find yourself craving for more, save the album’s premiere date. The wait is almost over.

Lovely cover. 🌼 The song itself is nice too, but gets a bit monotonous.
Cheers.
