Diatomé “The One”

Somewhere between soul and R&B, Diatomé introduces her new single “The One”. The relaxing vibe of both genres is a bit of a trap, though, as we are being drawn straight into a story of a fading love. Sung with a voice that is partly sad, yet desperate enough for the final plea of “please, come home”, “The One” goes for your sensitivity and fragility.

This pretty clever honey trap takes you by surprise. Just as you think you’re about to chill, the electric guitar solo reminds you of the loneliness abyss created all around you by the perfectly synchronised dance of sounds and words. “Pour myself some wine ‘cause you’re on my mind”, sings Diatomé with a voice tormented by the feelings of emotional despair, equally as frustrated as she seems to be tired of the continuous love drama.

Where does this lead, you’d ask, and the answer is as certain as the bottom of that bottle of wine we have just opened. Give it a listen and you will find out.
