The Siren “Chariot”

A story about being in war and in love couldn’t be more timely. The Siren calls it Funeralwave – music for riding through the apocalypse. Musically deep in the 1980s Synthwave, “Chariot” is the next preview of a 24 song visual album. Dark, dystopian, densely electronic.

There is something deeply magnetic about the combination of the retro sounds and the animated images making “Chariot” a whole. It’s almost as if Daft Punk still made music and somehow went back to 1984, which is the title of The Siren’s upcoming album, by the way. Other than the obvious reference to Orwell’s book, it brings a sense of understandable discomfort mixed with painful artistry. After all, it is based on a true story.

If that makes you curious of the entire album, you are not alone. Both singles released so far are equally as powerful as sad. Deeply rooted in our current reality, they feel like a record of unwanted past, yet it’s present that they are talking about. So, watch this space. I am sure there is more to come.
