OCCO refers to his music productions as ‘anti-pop’. “I Am”, the second single from his upcoming album, serves as an electronic backdrop for thought-provoking story-telling. Dark and dystopian, it introduces us to a dictator-like persona who is facing his empire’s inevitable demise. Not exactly easy-listening, but that’s quite alright, isn’t it?
“I Am” is one of those songs that grow on you after a couple of listens. Not your typical radio tune, it combines electronic vibes with an almost symphonic additions of a flute and strings. If you are up for the challenge, give it a go and you will be quickly rewarded with a not-so-obvious electronica whose goal is to widen to boundaries of pop music.
The entire release, “ROLL OUT THE FOG!” is scheduled for release on 24th April. Hope you’re ready for it!
