Felsmann + Tiley “God Is Lonelier” feat. Laius

Here’s yet another chilling tune by Felsmann + Tiley from their upcoming album, “Protomensch”. Opening the new year with a track like “God Is Lonelier”, other than being clearly and carefully planned, accidentally complements the state of our world today. “We play God by day”, reads the single’s description. “But at night, who’s listening? (…) Who do you pray to now?”

As the famous quote goes, “Artists are here to disturb the peace”. With their latest project, F+T seem to be hitting a very sensitive note. And they do it with a painful intention in mind. The “open your eyes” cry of the lyrics is complemented by dark and cinematic textures. The overall vibe, just like most of the previous singles from this project, touches the chilling truth of almost no hope left. Designed as a wake up call, it painfully dissects our current reality with the “God is lonelier” line repeated multiple times. Just like a mantra.

Felsmann + Tiley have done it again. They made us think. What a tireless task it seems to be these days – making your audience think. Between the lyrics filled with genuine sadness, and the careful sound design, lies a glimmer of hope, though. There’s no art without hope. But there’s also no hope without opening your mind, and your soul, first.

So, if you’re interested in what the entire album will bring, watch this space. My interview with F+T is coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy “God Is Lonelier” at the link below:
