A bit of a world music infused vibe anyone? This new tune from Beth Gladen does that, and more! According to the Artist herself, “Re-Birth” is “an abstract journey through a musical terrain which engulfs the listener into a series of emotional discoveries”.
This light, atmospheric tune feels to me like a trip down into your deeper self. The world music elements bring the sense of mystique and unknown, while the occasional vocals invite to a seance of self-discovery. Plus, the 1-minute-long intro – who still does this these days, in the era of streaming services where every second of the listener’s attention counts more than anything else.
So, in that sense, “Re-Birth” is a curious stand against the status quo, even if not intended, it still makes you think about the subject. But, setting that aside, it is simply a very pleasant experience with a not-your-typical release where an Artist makes artistic decisions without looking back or looking at any unhelpful criticism.
After all, isn’t this what music should always be about?

I’ve listened to it twice. It sounds like something I haven’t heard in a long while and it made me feel a bit nostalgic for unknown reasons. Can’t find other words to describe it. 😀
